Re: Saturday Evening Post March 28 1964.
My order 09-13582-13631 arrived safely on the third of October and in the good condition advertized. It was a gift for my wife.
The background for the purchase is that her father was the chief accountant of the American processing company EFP Ltd in Sauda, Norway. After a work week he would bring home a bag of apples, chocolate and his Saturday Evening Post. This issue had an article of Michelangelo’s «Pieta» sculpture on loan to the World Fair in New York. As a production and shipping accountant, well read on art and history, this daring transport from St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome to NYC of the «Pieta» caught his attention and he told his family all about Michelangelo and his work.
Many years later my wife and I went to Rome, Italy on holiday. There was the «Pieta» sculpture that my wife had lovingly been told about out of the March 28th 1964 SEP issue. The tale was not complete because the SEP issue was missing from the houshold, presumably dumped in a cleaning up job.
But, there on e-Bay was More Magazines. You brought tears to my wife’s eyes, when she saw the pictures of Michelangelo’s masterwork and that exact magazine her father brought home.
